Falls are not an inevitable part of aging. While falls are the leading cause of unintentional injuries for older Americans, many falls can be prevented. That’s the message of Clay Center Presbyterian Manor’s “Just Ask” session this month.
Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and non-fatal injuries for people age 65 and older. Falls can result in hip fractures, broken bones, and head injuries. Aaron Proctor, physical therapist and director of the Clay County Medical Center Physical Therapy Department, will share ways to reduce the risk of slips, trips and falls in your home or apartment.
“Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls” will begin at 2:30 p.m. June 21 at Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. It is part of Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask series, a free, ongoing lifelong learning program featuring information from local, regional and national experts on topics of interest to older adults and their families.
