FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
FIND OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from those interested in independent living at Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. Read on to find out more — if there’s a question we haven’t answered here, contact us today.

When is the right time to move into an Independent Living community?

Seniors often reach a point where they think about rightsizing. Their house may be more than they want or, for some, able to handle. They might start thinking it would be fun to sell the lawn mower and move somewhere maintenance-free. The ideal time to move into an independent living community is when you feel the itch to change things up, but when you are still active enough to enjoy the lifestyle benefits of a senior living community.

What are my Independent Living options?

We offer cottages.

How far are you from the doctor’s offices/hospital?

Less than a mile. We have transportation services available for you as a resident.

Do you have openings, you are always full?

Availability varies by season and year. Contact us today to see what we currently have available.

Do you have additional storage?

We can direct you to convenient storage units nearby. In addition, we can provide expert assistance in rightsizing. A move of this kind usually requires anticipating future needs and making some tough decisions about furnishings and possessions. In truth, you most likely spend the majority of your time in just a few rooms of your house. We can help you in planning. We’ll work with you personally to ensure the choices you make are right for you and consistent with the way you want live.

How do your fees work? Is it a buy-in or a monthly fee?

Our campus offers a monthly accommodation fee without an entrance fee. Depending on the residence selected, monthly independent living fees begin at $1,553. Rates and monthly fees are subject to periodic review. Contact us to learn more and take the next step in your journey.

Do I have to disclose all of my finances?

No. We need to see enough that we feel confident you can afford private pay senior living for the foreseeable future, but this does not require full disclosure of your finances.

What services do you provide?

For the cottages, we provide your basic cable, emergency pull cords, water, maintenance on your unit and all appliances in it.

What kind of furniture should I bring?

A good starting point is your bed, recliner, dresser, end table, television and a lamp. Then build out from there. Don’t forget wall decorations, too!

Do you offer a meal plan?

Dining is an important component of our culture at Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. We offer flexible meal plans with seasonal and always-available menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you can choose what you’d like to eat. Meals are not included for cottage residents, but cottage residents may contract at a lower rate for a certain number of meals per month.

Is there parking?

Yes, parking is available for independent living residents.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we allow pets in our Kreeck Estates Cottages with prior approval and a $500 non-refundable pet deposit.

Are there social opportunities or activities in Independent Living?

Absolutely! We offer activities, a vibrant social life, cultural outings, shopping trips, and more. Check out our programs or calendars to see some of what’s going on.
